Colleen has been in clinical private practice since 1994 and a social worker since 1985. She brings an inherent wisdom and depth of healing for the children, youth, teens, adults, couples and families she has had the honour to work and companion with on their journey through healing to wholeness.

Life brings us all challenges to move through and facing our fears is perhaps the biggest challenge of all – to break through the barriers of the negative beliefs and perceptions of whom, we think we are. The journey through healing, with Colleen, will unlock these barriers, no matter what your live experience or story is, to live your life with purpose, passion, intent and wholeness.

Colleen believes that we should all live like we are dying……that we should live fully, presently, with no regrets; but with self-compassion, compassion, joy, hope, peace and love.

That YOU matter; YOUR life matters, WE all matter and that our lives are stories that need to be witnessed, honoured and the script can be changed by us…when we are ready to move and be in and living our TRUTH.

Colleen has many academic credentials, but is also a traveller and student in learning and receiving this wisdom and knowledge, all her life. She has travelled with Shamans in Peru; lived and practiced in Hawaii; attended Zen Monastery for end- of- life compassionate care; presents and has presented her work, provincially, nationally and internationally.

Colleen is an approved, clinical supervisor with the ACSW and provides consultation services to social workers.

Colleen created and designed the Mental Health and Trauma course in the faculty of social work where she teaches graduate and undergraduate students.

Colleen is presently writing a book about healing and moving through our life blocks to our wholeness and purpose. Many of the stories will be from her clinical experiences; personal and wisdoms gained in her current work with the dying.

Creating community conversations are of great interest for Colleen to facilitate with specific groups; whether this is in the workplace or specific interest communities as it is time that barriers are removed and we can all see and experience, that WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER and create dialogues, understandings and solutions to issues we are all faced with in our lives and society.

About Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Accelerated Resolution Therapy is a form of psychotherapy with roots in existing evidence-based therapies but shown to achieve benefits much more rapidly (usually within 1-5 sessions). Clients with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance abuse, sexual abuse and many other mental and physical conditions can experience remarkable benefits starting in the first session. ART is not hypnosis.

I am certified in both Advanced and Master Level ART as a practitioner and Trainer for Professional Mental Health providers. ART is a SAMHSA evidence-based therapy. I’ve trained over 1800 people in ART across Canada. Please call me to discuss individual work and trainings at 403-984-2620

How ART Works

ART incorporates a combination of techniques used in many other traditional psychotherapies. ART works directly to reprogram the way in which distressing memories and images are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions. ART accomplishes this through the use of rapid eye movements similar to eye movements that occur during dreaming. Although techniques similar to these are used in other types of therapies. ART’s very specific and directive approach can achieve rapid recovery from symptoms and reactions that may have been present for many years. ART combines long respected, sound treatment practices with safe and effective methods validated by current scientific research studies conducted by the University of South Florida.
